My grandmother and mom and have been helping me pay off the tuition and I’m ready to get a job pretty soon. A little nervous since it would be the first time I’m working a real job. I’ve volunteered… but that’s totally different. Also that lack of confidence I mentioned last post went away pretty fast the last two days of my bartending class. Sounds weird but true. I’m ready to kick some ass and prove I can make these drinks, although some studying is needed just to refresh my memory. I’m lacking in some pretty popular drinks normally made around where I live. Mainly because the course covered different types of drinks for different types of establishments (lounges, bars, clubs, frat bars, etc), to help us find several types of jobs. Anyway I want to work in the Bronx, Manhattan isn’t my thing, found like two places I wouldn’t mind working at…. I guess I’ll find out when go for a interview.

Oh yeah, I’m finally going to get around to fixing up and updating Planeteater as a whole. Will be needing a new layout, new content, a sidebar on the side, and perhaps some new plug-ins and widgets. I sort of updated my ‘Me’ page, removed the pictures plugin and added a Robo.to widget. A new layout is in order first, and I need to finally get my self back into making Myspace layouts. I can’t believe how long I’ve been on hiatus with the main site. Sad.

If you really look at it, I shouldn’t really have that much of a boring one. Yeah I get paid to watch my brothers, yeah my mom goes places. But what sucks is that, one I just have one friend that I depend on to go places, two my mom works odd hours so I hardly get time to my self, three when my mom does go places its normally with her friends who I hate, four all my other friends are always busy. I get screwed over all the time. Oddly the idea of a family get together to my mom is like near impossible for her. She won’t take us anywhere unless her friends have say in it or bring up the idea, so now i get left out of a trip to where they are going (normally a park). Wrong in so many ways.

Anyway I finally managed to do something for my self, yet my timing is always off or bad. I decided to go to bartending school, sounds great. $895 bucks for 40 hours. The slots avaliable was for this month (july) and the next one free was in October. Why didn’t I pick October is beyond me. This way I could of saved up to pay it off and pay my friend for tickets to a show she wanted me to go to. Now I feel like the only broke ass college student with barely any money to get to and from Manhattan to take the class. I got $450 to hurry up and pay by the end of this month and then another $445 when my two weeks are up. They offer job placement so I can easily pay it off after I get a job. But due to the length of the class 4 hours a day for 2 weeks or 8 hours a day for 1 week, I feel that I may not be able to get everything down correctly to go out and become a bartender. I want to be able to consistently make drinks the right way, learn the drinks by heart, learn my co-brands, cordials, and technique for speed. Learning these drink recipes is no problem, its everything else like the co-brands (to up sell drinks), and all the cordials we covered. The instructor covers the class pretty fast and seems to miss some cordials we use. He was like we should know the alcohol content of them. Last I check he never mentioned them to our afternoon class. Need to mention this to him. Also with such a demanding and competitive job I want to be able to feel like I know all the course has to offer. He was like to be confident that you are a bartender when your done with the course . Honestly the course lacks in this ability to teach their students how to be confident bartenders.

Well I got one more week left to do with a few more drink lessons to cover and two tests (written and speed). Wish me luck.

Summer. You figure that with summer there will be all sorts of eye candy, pretty much everywhere, and people will at least double their efforts to make themselves look hella hot in their new summer outfits. I’m pretty sure that applies elsewhere, but I swear it doesn’t in the Bronx. Its a all year-round ugliness fiesta, and half ass attempts to look decent. It seems to be a trend where girls wear jeans 3 times smaller and then have the nerve to wonder why their fat rolls off the top and they look like a damn mushroom, or why their ass crack shows, women who wear sandals and their feet are as gray as ash. How bout some girls who paint their nails and pretty much skip the clean up process, they walk out with more nail polish on their skin then their nails. Its pretty gross.

I’m sorry but its already bad enough that its hot outside, my eyes don’t have to suffer as well. Its not hard to buy lotion, they inexpensive, and sold just about everywhere in all sorts of flavors, sizes and types. If you feet/legs/arms are ashy or feel dry, then lotion is a must, out there are tons of lightweight lotions to wear just for summer, make use of them. If you can’t paint your own nails, that’s what nail salons are for, and here in NY there’s hundreds if not thousands (they are freaking everywhere). If you can’t seem to hid the fat that sits over your jeans, its pretty obvious that you need to start buying jeans in your size, not the size you wish you were. With skinny jeans out and about its not impossible to get jeans that fit tight around the legs and comfortable around the waist. Also its known to be a great idea and buy jeans with a higher waist, this way people aren’t blinded by the crack of your ass. Perhaps buy a belt too. Just saying.

Summer is suppose to be a great holiday with a little less than 3 months of it people should at least look as good as the weather is. while all that applies with summer outfits, bathing suits is a whole other deal.

Heres some problems people seem to have, and a possible solution:

Wear a bathing suit in your size. If you weight has been changing throughout the year, best chance your gonna need a new bathing suit this year. Even if you feel that your weight hasn’t changed, its still a good idea to try your old one on first (in your house) and see how it fits. If your ass can barely fit, its time for a new bottom, if your boobs aren’t being kept up by the top, then its time for a new one. Bathing suit tops should work like a bra (lift and hold), flimsy ones don’t cut it, plus they seem to be terrible for hiding nipples. Bottoms should contain the unseenables/neitherregions. I don’t want to see most of your ass or your pubes stick out of your bathing suit.

Get a bathing suit that matching what you wear and wear sunblock. Don’t buy tops with thick straps, if you like to wear tube style tops and dresses. Tan lines aren’t as sexy as you think. they do sell tube top bathing suits. Sunblock is essential all year round and a must wear if your sensitive to the sun. But during the summer, skip the suntan lotion and grab sun block instead. It protects your skin from premature wrinkles and avoids heavy tans. This way you can have a nice sun kissed look without getting too tanned and looking dirty.

Get a bathing suit that goes with your age and weight. I for one wear shorts to over my bikini bottom, mainly because I don’t want anyone seeing my ass. Simple as that. Its know that as you get older likely start to dress your age, while some women are in denial and dress the age they wish they still were, terrible result in the end. Anyway bathing suits shouldn’t be worn that way. Modesty goes a long way, you don’t have to show it all, especially if your heavyset (no offense to anyone with more to love). Wearing a bathing suit that accentuates your body shape and flatters you, its the way to go. the main goal is to look good in a bathing suit.

Shave, especially if your a girl, nothing makes you look more nasty than body hair in places were the sun don’t shine. If you know that shaving the day after your first shave hurts, then time your self or buy lotions and creams that help reduce the appearance of hair, or the annoying bumps and redness that comes with shaving. shave your legs too, I’ve noticed that may women who shave too often get weird bumps on their legs, I also noticed that it happens often with cheap razors. A major no-no! invest in more expensive ones like Venus, Schick, etc. Shaving cream also helps a lot, these razors are designed to avoid these unsightly bumps, and damange to the skin. Its worth it.

Well this is all I can think of thats been a major bother to me since summer started.

Well I pretty much spent today dedicated to watching the Michael Jackson memorial, which I got up early for. After all the crying I did I knocked out till around 7pm. Not really eventful. Anyway I really thought that the memorial for Jackson was very touching, the crowds were exceptionally quite, somber and respectful. The performances were amazing (except Mariah Carey, then again maybe I didn’t like it cuz I don’t like her), the speeches were touching. Everything about it was just amazing. It was the first memorial service I ever seen on such a huge star and I felt that despite all of Jackson’s faults he was remembered for all the goods he did in life and for the world. It was truly touching especially when his daughter concluded the memorial with her heartbreaking
“I just wanted to say, ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine! I just wanted to say I love him so much”

Take a look at the video below, Here congressman Peter King is ranting on and on how we need to ‘glorify’ the men and women who sacrifice their lives to save us, also how we are putting Jackson non-stop on the news and the whole ‘how does that make our nation look’ that we are more interested in Jackson’s Death than the war in Iraq and everything else that’s going on now. Whatever. Think about it, no matter how much you rant, complain, and yell, nothing will stop this nation from being more interested in celebrity drama before anything else. Hearing non-stop stories on murders, the war, the senate acting like a bunch of babies, and stupid debates that pretty much get no where is all 2nd to celebrity drama and the news that surrounds them. I personally don’t think that Jackson is a pervert, never did. He was found “Not Guilty” on all counts and that’s all that matters to me and his fans. We are getting what we want to see on the news, and that’s the Jackson story. If that wasn’t the case then places like TMZ, CNN, NBC, ABC will not be showing these stories. Like it or not, it won’t die down till after the memorial, and after his will has been followed through.

Then in all seriousness you really need to get out more, and get your hands on some newspapers, watch tv, or get a friend. Still fresh in our minds and a shock to all his fans around the world, the death of Michael Jackson has pretty much hit us all in the gut. This may be old news, but I really wasn’t feeling like blogging when all these celebrities were just leaving us. The death of Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, Fred Travalena, and Michael Jackson plagues us all.
But what I really wanted to blog about was for the new Michael Jackson website. Changed now for fans to share their memories and heart felt condolences of Mr. Jackson. For those who care; your welcome to join in. I did.

What I grew up listing to mainly consisted of Spanish Salsa music out at the time, Madonna and Michael Jackson. His music was not only always fun to listen to, but as I grew older I never grew tired of listening to the same hits, along with his new ones at the time.He was timeless to me, one man whose music stood the test of time, and touch the hearts of all of his fans. His death was a shock to us all, He was someone you wanted to live forever. Through all of his hardships I never once changed of opinion of him. He was and always will be Michael Jackson the King of Pop. I along with my family wish his family and most of all his kids the best. May his music live forever.

I find it to be pretty cool that i have somewhat of a broad look on what I like to have a career doing. While in Herkimer County Community College for Business Administration, To be honest I’m not learning much on business as I would like. In fact the more general classes like human resource management, English, and some electives actually stuck with me. Anyway I’m two classes from graduating, and trade school is something I’m looking into. After looking at the subjects covered, the following caught my eye

1. Cosmetology & Hairstyling

2. Funeral Director Training

3. Culinary

4. Web Design and Graphic Design

5. Bartending

6. Photography

I actually don’t mind trying these out. I have a interest in make-up mainly eyeshadow but the interest is there. I also wouldn’t mind working at a funeral home, although the training for this seems a little intense, its training for several fields. I can’t cook but learning how in culinary seems like a fun idea, bartending is the same way. Its already obvious that web design and graphic design is something I would have no problem getting into seeing how I already create my own website layouts for all my sites. Learning more is always great. Photography I had a brief fling with, but stopped due to the feeling is most of my shots coming out pretty noobish. I wouldn’t mind taking classes to improve.
Bartending and culinary sounds like a great mix, and if I want to have a career in food this would be a great choice. The same with taking Web Design & Graphic Design and Cosmetology & Hairstyling together. No idea what I want to do. so many choices.

In other news that reunion I mentioned in my other post, turns out its gonna be next year. Talk about WTF. Now the idea of it seems pretty lame.

Okay, maybe its the whole typing when I have the time that seems to drag me down for blogging. It’s like I dread it so much that me and blogging go separate ways. I means having comments, well readers… is what really matters (well to me… why else will i blog), but my lack of consistent entries is whats hurting me and my site. So I decided to write, yes literally write down my entries in this pretty red journal my mom picked up for me from Barnes and Nobel. Usually these books go to random notes mainly when I’m on the computer, like picture sizes, URLs and musics to get my hands on. Well now I can write when I have something to ‘talk’ about, just before I go to bed. Consistent blog entries here I come!

Anyway as random as this sounds, it was weird cuz recently I was taking a bath (Yes one of those where you sit in the water), and before you say that i don’t bathe daily… its showers I take daily and baths are once in a blue moon (while relaxing… they are kind of gross). Well I was thinking, why can’t American bathrooms be more like Japanese bathrooms; where the shower is separate from the tub. That and our foyers were like theirs as well. You think about it and its way more hygienic to have a step-up before you get into the rest of the house, this way you can sit down, take off your shoes and go about your business in your house without tracking the filth you step on outside in your house. Also when taking a bath you can wash up in the shower while your tub is filling up next to you, this way you don’t sit in dirty water, sounds great. That night it also sparked up this super random scene in Titanic where this guy gets shot, falls overboard and floats in the water. I remember asking my grandmother why that happened (the floating part), this was all because as my bath was filling up, I was laying down and my mid section on its own started to arch with rising of the water. In a way, floating.

Well, life for me is just as bland as ever. Recently an old Jr high school friend contacted me, mentioning a possible reunion between us and a few friends we use to hang with. Well as me said “those who didn’t become drug addicts or died.” After hearing about some people i use to be friends with, it turns out the common theme with them is marriage, children, settling down. WTF! I mean these people are between the ages of 19-22 why are they settling down now? they have their whole life a head of them. I feel that settling down now especially marriage and kids can ruin whatever youth they still have. But what do I know? I’m lonely as ever. My last BF was almost two years ago (my big mistake of ending it without much say on my end…), and this guy i knew for four years in high school who does like me, is now off in Afghanistan in the Marines. What a life… Anyway I would love to see all my old friends again, its been a long time.

As for that haircut I said I wanted, I got it. I did it myself with a razor shaper. You can check it out here on my daily booth. At the moment no new picture has been taken, giving my hair a break from constant straightening, so its a curly mess. I look like a old lady from the 70’s. Been thinking about cutting it again, shorter for easily manageability. I guess I’ll figure it out sooner or later. =)

OH YEAH!!! for those who care for games, Call of Duty World at War Map pack 2 came out!!!!! a whole new set of maps and a new Nazi Zombie game. Awesome!! Just felt like sharing that.
